Amber co2 total extract (fossilized tree resin of Pinus species) from  China is a dark brown viscous liquid displaying a soft, warm,  delicate, sweet, resinous, precious woods, leathery, slightly powdery  bouquet  of outstanding tenacity.

Its application as a fixative in natural perfumery do to soft but deep aroma with excellent duration. Its sublime notes act as a fine crucible for other fragrances to meld into.

It is particularly suited to amber bases, musk bases, leather accords, high class florals, sacred perfumes, incense blends, chypre, fougere.

Generally what is sold as amber oil is a combination of various resinous oils like styrax, benzoin, etc., along with other essential oils like patchouli etc. and it has a  intensely sweet resinous odor. Here is a recipe for that "blended amber".
